The “Mamma Bambino” project was created to meet the needs of children and families in the province of Mantua, where distances to specialist centers can be an obstacle to timely access to care. Being able to have diagnostic examinations close to home is a fundamental support: accessibility to health services from the earliest days of life is crucial for healthy and safe growth. The initiative is promoted by ABEO, the Association for Children with Hemopathic Oncology, which for years has been dedicated to improving the quality of life and care for children with serious illnesses. With this project, the Association confirms its mission alongside families by providing tools that can support prevention and early diagnosis. Abbiamo scelto di sostenere questo progetto nell'ambito dell’iniziativa Nel Cuore dello Spazio Enel, che crea una sinergia tra noi di Enel Cuore e gli Spazio Enel di Enel Energia, diffusi in tutta Italia; infatti, anche grazie alla loro vicinanza al territorio, diamo risposte mirate ai bisogni e alle esigenze specifiche provenienti dalle realtà locali, su tutto il territorio italiano. We have chosen to support this project as part of the Nel Cuore dello Spazio Enel initiative, which creates a synergy between us at Enel Cuore and the Enel Spaces of Enel Energia, spread throughout Italy; in fact, also thanks to their proximity to the territory, we give targeted responses to the specific needs and requirements coming from local realities, throughout Italy. In this case, we have contributed to the purchase of two state-of-the-art ultrasound machines designed for children from 0 to 2 years old, to be allocated to the hospitals of Asola and Pieve di Coriano, part of the Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale of Mantua. The addition of these new diagnostic services will enable a full range of essential investigations, from hip ultrasound to brain, kidney and abdominal ultrasound. This initiative represents an important step toward a more present health care system in which distance is not an obstacle to health. Projects like this reflect a shared commitment to building communities where every child can grow up healthy and protected, with the support of a health network that is close and attentive to the needs of all.
