Energy poverty represents one of the most pressing challenges for the most fragile segments of the population. With the “Light Bulbs” project, we chose to support the Community of Sant'Egidio to promote a campaign to distribute LED light bulbs to about 10,000 people throughout Italy. The initiative not only helps reduce energy expenses for destitute families, people with disabilities and the frail elderly, but also for shelters and centers dedicated to social support. The Community of Sant'Egidio, which has always been committed to supporting the most vulnerable, stands out for its widespread network of volunteers and its ability to intervene in a targeted manner throughout the country. Through this initiative, the Community not only offers concrete help, but also raises awareness of the value of energy efficiency and the importance of sustainable choices. Thanks to our contribution, it was possible to distribute more than 22,000 LED bulbs, an action with a strong social and ecological impact. The use of these bulbs allows significant economic savings, reducing energy consumption and, consequently, the bills of beneficiary families. At the same time, the initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of small daily gestures for a more sustainable future.
