Places dedicated to combating gender-based violence are essential not only to offer concrete support to women who are victims, but also to raise awareness. Through these spaces, greater awareness of the problem is promoted, helping to prevent new cases. Their presence is crucial in breaking the silence around violence and fostering cultural change. In addition to assistance, they help spread a message of respect and protection. For years, WeWorld Association has been doing just that: supporting the most vulnerable people in a widespread way over the territory, particularly fighting against educational poverty, supporting migrants and countering gender-based violence. “Spazio Donna” is a project against gender-based violence and for women's empowerment, which has been helping women in many cities in Italy since 2014. In the Spaces, women in socioeconomic difficulties or victims of violence find hospitality and support, thanks to a team of professionals who accompany them on paths of prevention and awareness, also offering psychological, work and parenting support. But that's not all: there is also a legal desk, professionalizing courses for job reintegration, listening and sharing workshops, with a specific focus on the mother/child relationship. The winning idea that ensures the best impact of the project is the collaboration with territorial bodies: social services and anti-violence centers, counseling centers, general practitioners, schools and partners who know the local reality and know how to act to improve it. We have chosen to support the activities of the Women's Spaces in Milan, Rome and Naples, in three difficult neighborhoods such as Giambellino, San Basilio and Scampia, in order to act on the areas that need it most and give birth to new spaces of inclusion, integration and hope.
