In Naples, many children and youth grow up in contexts of severe social and economic marginalization, with few opportunities for development and inclusion. The lack of safe and stimulating spaces contributes to school dropout and youth discomfort, making it even more difficult to imagine a better future.
This is why we chose to support L'Altra Napoli, an association that has been implementing projects for children and youth in the city's most disadvantaged neighborhoods since 2005. Their work focuses on three main areas: urban redevelopment to create a positive social impact, the creation of social enterprises to provide employment opportunities for young people, and the enhancement of talent through training, music and aggregation services.
The project we are supporting, “Community Hub: A Home at the Market,” aims to create a multipurpose educational center in the heart of Naples, in Piazza Mercato, one of the areas at greatest risk of economic and social marginalization. Thanks to the redevelopment of the space of the former BNL agency, which has been closed for more than a decade, a space of about 300 square meters dedicated to young people and the community will be created. The center will offer educational and socializing opportunities to counter school dropout and youth distress, actively involving the neighborhood's educating community.
Activities planned within the center will include:
We believe that investing in young people means investing in everyone's future. With Una Casa al Mercato, we want to help create a place of growth, inclusion and opportunity for children, youth and their families.
