There are times in life when a home is not just a physical place, but a refuge, a space of protection and hope. Unfortunately, not all mothers and their children have this certainty. Fragile situations and the absence of a support network can make the journey more arduous and highlight the need for concrete help to find a home from which to start living again. The Istituto degli Innocenti ETS Foundation passionately pursues this mission, offering support and protection to children, adolescents and mothers in need. Currently, the Foundation manages three residential communities that accommodate 14 mothers and their children, as well as a family home that houses up to 7 children between the ages of 0 and 6, providing them with a safe and loving environment. It also participates in the educational network of the City of Florence, offering growth paths for the youngest children and parenting support programs. Requests for shelter from social services are increasing, and it is necessary to expand space to meet this growing need. Our contribution will go toward the renovation of an apartment of about 70 square meters, owned by the Institute, which will allow two new families to be housed. This redevelopment is a concrete step to increase the Foundation's hosting capacity and offer a home to those who need it most. The operating costs of the facility will be covered by the Institute, thus ensuring the continuity of the service over time. With this project, we want to make a concrete contribution to building a better future for so many mothers and children in need. Together with the Fondazione Istituto degli Innocenti ETS, we light a light of hope and build a more serene tomorrow for those who need help today.
